Carve Wood Biome Progress Calculator: Time to the Next Biome on Roblox

Biome unlocks are the biggest progression gates in Carve Wood on Roblox. Each new biome brings higher-rarity trees, better worker payouts, and a fresh customer rotation. The gap between biomes is large enough that the wrong estimate can cost you hours of grinding in the wrong tier, which is why this calculator exists. Enter your current cash, your average cash-per-hour, and the biome you are pushing for, and the tool returns the estimated hours and the recommended upgrade path along the way.

How to use the calculator

  1. Enter your current wallet balance in Carve Wood on Roblox (the number at the top of your HUD).
  2. Enter your average cash-per-hour from your last two-hour session. If you do not know it, leave the default of 1,200 cash/hr as a reasonable starting point for mid-game.
  3. Pick your current biome and the target biome. The defaults assume you are pushing from biome one to biome two.
  4. Read the result: estimated hours to the unlock, the recommended axe upgrade to buy along the way, and the cheapest worker to hire first.

The math is intentionally simple so you can re-run it on your phone between sessions. For a deeper model that includes rebirth multipliers and customer bonus stacking, see the Income calculator instead.

The formula behind the estimate

The calculator uses three inputs:

  • Cash needed. Each biome has a documented unlock cost. We use the cash gap between your current balance and the next unlock cost as the cash needed.
  • Cash-per-hour. Your self-reported average over a normal two-hour session. We apply a 1.15x bonus for active customer bonus rounds to compensate for the variance.
  • Session length. Average session length in minutes. We assume you are active for the full session. Idle and offline progress is calculated separately on the Offline progress page.

Estimated hours = (cash needed - current cash) / (cash-per-hour x 1.15)

Default biome unlock costs (verified)

BiomeApprox. unlock cost (cash)Axe tier required
Biome 1 (Starter)0Common Axe
Biome 2~50,000Iron Axe
Biome 3~250,000Steel Axe

The exact in-game unlock cost is set by the developer and may shift between patches. The values above are the published numbers from the most recent verified Update log entry. Treat them as a planning estimate, not a guaranteed number, and re-check after every Roblox update.

The cheapest way to reach biome two from a fresh save in biome one:

  1. Hour 0 to 1. Buy the cheapest worker first. The Workers tier list ranks the cheapest hire by return-on-investment. The Apprentice is the right first hire for almost every save.
  2. Hour 1 to 3. Upgrade your axe twice. The Axe tier list shows the cheapest axe upgrade path. Stop upgrading once your axe tier matches the biome two requirement.
  3. Hour 3 to 5. Hire the second worker. The Journeyman is the standard mid-game hire.
  4. Hour 5 to 8. Save the cash needed for the biome two unlock. Do not spend on cosmetics or bonus passes during this window.

The full How to unlock biomes page walks through the route in detail.

Why the cash-per-hour estimate matters

Cash-per-hour is the single biggest variable in the formula. A player earning 500 cash/hr needs roughly twice as many sessions to reach the biome unlock as a player earning 1,000 cash/hr. The biggest drivers of cash-per-hour, in order:

  1. Axe tier. A higher-tier axe chops faster and unlocks higher-rarity trees.
  2. Worker roster. More workers means more logs carved and sold per minute.
  3. Customer bonus timing. Selling during a Gold 5x round multiplies the payout by 5x.
  4. Game pass ownership. The Paintbrush 2x Customers pass and the 2x Roll Luck pass materially shift the cash-per-hour.
  5. Biome. Higher biomes grow higher-rarity trees that sell for more per log.

The calculator uses your self-reported cash-per-hour as the input. If your number is off by 50%, the result is off by roughly the same factor. Re-calibrate your cash-per-hour estimate once per week using the Income calculator.

When to push vs when to rebirth

Pushing for the next biome is the right move when:

  • Your cash-per-hour is trending up over the last three sessions.
  • The next biome unlocks a wood type that is worth at least 2x the current biome’s best wood type.
  • You have at least three workers hired and your axe tier is one below the biome requirement.

Rebirthing instead is the right move when:

  • Your cash-per-hour has plateaued for a full week.
  • You have already unlocked the highest-rarity wood type in the current biome.
  • The rebirth multiplier would push your next session’s cash-per-hour above the current biome ceiling.

The Rebirth calculator helps you decide. The general rule is to push for biome two before your first rebirth, then rebirth once per biome.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How long does it take to unlock biome two in Carve Wood on Roblox?

For a fresh save earning 1,000 cash/hr with the cheapest worker hired, the unlock takes roughly 40 to 50 hours of active play. The exact horizon depends on your cash-per-hour and whether you stack the customer bonus rounds.

What axe tier do I need for biome two?

The Iron Axe is the typical minimum for biome two. Upgrade your axe to Iron before attempting the unlock.

Should I push for biome two or rebirth first?

Push for biome two before your first rebirth. The first rebirth multiplies the cash you earn in biome two, so unlocking biome two first maximises the multiplier payoff.

How do I estimate my cash-per-hour accurately?

Play a focused two-hour session and log your wallet balance at the start and end. The difference is your cash-per-hour. Repeat over three sessions and average the result.
